“Lighthouses don’t go running all over the island, looking for boats to save.
They just stand there shining”
What a perfect quote. Doesn’t it just say it all? I was talking about being a lighthouse to a client the other day and of course, I was saying it for me too. (Don’t you love how your clients help you to learn:) )
I realised that although I know my job is to be me, to shine as brightly as I can, I still get caught up in the old rescuing pattern from time to time and I was doing that in a couple of areas of my life right now. Isn’t it amazing how it just sneaks up on you? One minute you are shining brightly, the next you’re running after those boats and guess what? Those boats are running at least as fast as you are:) you’re never going to catch them and even if you did, they’ll just keep running. Shining is your thing, they may have a different agenda, a different life path and it’s not for you to tell them they’re wrong.
If you are truly embodying you, if you are creating and living your life in a way that supports you, helps you to grow, then you can’t help but shine and in shining, you are inviting others to do the same.
Whether they decide to or not, is none of your business! You are your business and they are their business. It may not be what we were taught as children and it’s still the truth. You can’t make anyone change if they don’t want to and maybe, just maybe, they know what’s best for them in this life. It might not make sense to you, but to a part of them it does.
The most useful thing you can do for them is to shine your own light, wish them well and trust that all is as it should be, trust them to do what is right for them and trust you to know what is right for you (and then tap on any frustration because they just won’t do it your way )
Have fun this week, shining your light. If you weren’t responsible for rescuing anyone this week, what would you be doing? Can you invest that energy in yourself? Allow you to shine even more brightly? I’d love to hear how it goes:)
And if you could use a hand in clearing old patterns that are hanging in there, book a session and we’ll get to the root and clear it.
Or join me on the 10th September for EFT Masterclasses online or 12th September for EFT Masterclasses live to learn even more effective ways to use EFT and clear that backlog of your own stuff while you learn:)
Foe those of you new to EFT, there’s also an Introduction to EFT live on the 11th September.
Please pass the dates on to anyone you think might be interested:)
And don’t forget The AMT conference in Eastbourne, where I’ll be talking about Trusting yourself.
And the EFT Gathering in York, where I’ll be talking about Coming Home to Yourself.
These conferences/gatherings are a wonderful way to connect to the EFT community, while seeing what others are doing with EFT. You always leave feeling inspired and uplifted (and of course there’s all the hugs:)
